Here Copper, Porcelain and Ipe
Are brought together in a modern contemporary style. With a Rain Curtain Clad in Copper, which also doubles as a support Post for the Hammock that Louise had specifically requested for those well earned periods of rest. Ipe is a extremely robust and dense hardwood, that like teak will handle anything the weather can throw at it.
This is the copper Rain curtain which absolutely works a treat as you can see even in this still image.
Looking down on the courtyard in Ker Street Plymouth, you cansee the hook for the hammock
The curtain of rain produced by this feature is certainly dramatic, made even more interesting by the copper covered pizza oven and chimney.
Here you can see the copper Rain curtain in action again it certainly is quite spectacular and brings a wow factor to this courtyard.
The work under way with the Ipe decking and seating nearing completion.
The work nearly completed, the cupboard doors hung with a copper drip, to shed the water away.
Here is the initial design for this courtyard, trying out different layouts for the rain curtain an Hammock supports.
Here the rain is plain to see as the pump works it's magic, great for hot summer days when you need cooling off!
This project was just perfect for the team, and Louise was a great character who told things as they are, briefing me on the project she brought up a Pinterest picture of the style of garden/courtyard that she wanted to have created for her.
Her requests were adhered to in all but one which I felt could be a little dangerous in a small setting. Far safer to bring a free standing fire pit in, which could be stored in the various options that we had built in.
